Step into a meaningful contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, where you’ll work on-site supporting students in a dynamic school environment near Gurnee, IL. This full-time position spans the entire academic year, beginning mid-August 2026 and extending through late May 2027, approximately 33.25 hours per week. As an essential member of the special education team, you’ll focus on fostering an inclusive learning atmosphere and shaping positive educational outcomes.

To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- A valid, current Professional Educator License (PEL) for Illinois—please have a copy ready to include with your application
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in classroom, resource, or self-contained settings
- Strong classroom management and communication abilities
- Commitment to individualized instruction and adapting curricula to diverse learning needs
- A collaborative mindset and organizational skills
Day-to-day, your responsibilities could include:
- Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Delivering engaging instruction tailored to student abilities and needs
- Collecting data and monitoring progress for each student
- Partnering closely with general education teachers, families, and support staff
- Creating supportive, structured classroom routines
This is an in-person position, offering the fulfillment that comes from direct interaction and relationship-building with students and staff alike.
