Job Description: Job Summary: The part-time hourly Lab Assistant will provide support to faculty and students in the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program's laboratory sessions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up, supervise, and break down lab and testing stations; maintain a safe, organized learning environment throughout lab sessions.
- Support laboratory instruction through demonstration, coaching, and supervision of student skill practice in simulated patient-care scenarios.
- Conduct and score student competency checkoffs and practical skill assessments using established course rubrics/checklists and required safety criteria.
- Communicate effectively with the course coordinator to learn and understand all curriculum policies and rules for testing in the lab.
Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Current New York State Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing with 3+ years of experience within the last 5 years.
- Must be able to assist students with physical therapy interventions and have broad experience with current and evolving health technology as well as basic troubleshooting skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills; professionalism, reliability, and ability to collaborate with faculty and students.
- Prior teaching or instructional support experience in PTA education (clinical instruction and/or lab instruction, orthopedic outpatient experience).
- Demonstrated connections with local healthcare organizations.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish. English and other languages will be considered.
- Adjunct rate of pay for the 26/27 academic year is $48.70/ per hour. Classes will be assigned on an as needed basis dependent upon enrollment.
- Adjuncts are eligible to participate in the NYS Teacher's Retirement System.
