Assistant Property Manager

Highmark Residential is looking for an Assistant Property Manager to perform community accounting functions and assist in leasing and personnel supervision for the Grande Court at North Port location. Benefits Help you achieve your goals by continuous professional development and career progression sessions Competitive pay for the market Monthly bonus opportunities for all site associates 30% associate rent discount Medical, Dental & Vision benefits starting 30 days of full-time employment Company-provided life insurance, short term and long term disability coverage Flexible Spending accounts 401(k) eligibility after 90 days with 4% Highmark match Professional Certification & Tuition reimbursement Vacation, Sick and Personal Time off available after 90 days 10 paid holidays Paid parental leave Responsibilities Collect and secure rental payments Scan daily bank deposits and verify accuracy Assist Community Director with daily rate approvals in Yieldstar Input daily activity transactions in Yardi and clear validations Prepare accounting records and reports, including deposit accounting and monthly close out Verify accuracy of move‑outs for integration with rental collection company Deliver late rent letters and notices to vacate, and contact residents with unpaid rent daily Handle bad debt collection until resolved Assist in eviction process following local policies Enter activity into Yardi per daily, weekly & monthly checklists including Skip Watch information when applicable Assist Community Director with Apartment Ratings responses Help team achieve positive Satisfaction scores Assist with leasing duties, showing apartments and preparing leases via e‑signature when applicable Maintain organized community office files Maintain working knowledge of laws, rules & regulations concerning apartment leasing and management (Fair Housing, collections, evictions, towing, pool enclosures) Prepare accurate and complete reports timely Record, prepare and follow up on work orders to facilitate residents’ service requests Assist in inspections of vacant apartments and prepare them for market‑ready status Promote resident retention through renewal program Perform periodic inspection of common areas, including balcony/patio inspections Report any observed maintenance problems Assist in planning and preparation of resident functions Stay informed and comply with all policies and procedures outlined in the operations manual Adhere to and comply with company safety policies and rules and use safety equipment as required Assume duties of Community Director as directed Maintain courteous and helpful demeanor toward residents, prospective residents, and coworkers Have reliable transportation for meetings, supply procurement, and travel Provide mode of communication for home contact and emergencies Be available for overtime, weekend, holiday and evening work Be willing to be assigned to other Highmark communities as needed Perform other duties as assigned by Community Director Travel and overnight stays may be required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Mathematical skills (high school level) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), Outlook and internet Leadership and team‑building skills Valid driver’s license Apartment management experience preferred Strong proficiency in property management software (preferably Yardi) Tax Credit experience preferred Experience in community accounting, rent collection, and lease management Ability to handle bad debt collection and eviction processes Experience with Yieldstar and Yardi systems Capable of multi‑tasking and managing daily operational responsibilities Req ID: 2026-9523 #J-18808-Ljbffr
