Banquet AssistantThis description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications. The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.Position Purpose: To assist the banquet department with the coordination and service delivery of food and beverage experiences to our guests.Essential Functions:Set up tables with silverware, and other equipment per the event orderMaintain standards of quality and service according to DoubleTree standardsPrepare workstationsHandle guest requests or coordinate additional assistance from the supervisor or managerCommunicate frequently with captains, supervisors, and managersMaintain condition and cleanliness of banquet rooms, public areas, and storage areas.Maintain inventory of necessary supplies.Promote excellent guest/associate rapport by responding and completing all requests promptly, efficiently, and courteouslyAttend all scheduled meetings and training sessionsPerform all other related duties and special projects as requested and/or assigned.Requirements:High School Diploma preferredPrior hospitality/customer service experience preferredAbility to respond quickly and accurately to guest requestsAbility to handle multiple tasks quickly and efficientlyKnowledge of appropriate table settings and proper set-up preferred.Dependable and reliable to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation with flexibility to work varied schedulesAttention to detailAbility to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner.Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills including the ability to read, write, speak, and understand EnglishMust be able to lift, push, pull, and or carry up to 30 poundsAbility to stand and move throughout continuously to perform essential job functionsMust be able to represent the company in a professional, well-groomed, and courteous mannerEqual Opportunity Employer
