Employment Resource Counselor

General Information:

This full-time non-exempt position, reporting to the Senior Case Manager, is responsible for verifying all homes and job sites in accordance with standards established by contract agency and Company standards.

A working knowledge of:

· Contract requirements for home site inspection

· Geographic area where residents may select home confinement site

· Safe methods of travel into unfamiliar areas

· Time management and scheduling

The demonstrated ability to:

· Coordinate and conduct home confinement visits to include initial home inspection and weekly home and employment visits for all home confinement placements

· Complete a minimum of four random in-person employment accountability checks at residents’ employment site

· Complete initial job site checks

· Manages a small caseload

· Performs runs to BOP/DOC Corporate Office

· Manage a flexible work schedule, to include nights and weekends

· Extensive regional travel with company vehicle provided

· Plan and organize assignments to expedite travel requirements

· Prepare and deliver complete and accurate reports on a timely basis

· Interpret and implement contract rules, regulations, policies and procedures properly

· Must be computer literate

· Express ideas orally and in writing clearly and completely

· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, residents and employers

· Responsible for maintaining the upkeep of the required maintenance of the company vehicle, GPS, cell phone and gas card

· Maintain contracting agency clearance requirements

· Maintain a valid PA/NJ driver’s license in good standing.

Academic and work experience:

This position requires a high school diploma and one year of work experience in guidance, counseling, or job placement. Work experience may be substituted with a specialized degree or certification in the field of guidance, counseling, or career development and one-year experience in similar position in corrections and/or relevant field experience.
