About the Position

RN – Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) / Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) – Day Shift – Relocation Candidates Welcome

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the ASU/PACU team at a hospital in York, Maine. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for patients before and after surgical procedures, including monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia and providing safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care.

Candidates must have at least two years of experience in an ASU/PACU or Critical Care unit and be comfortable participating in a weekend call rotation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients before and after surgical procedures.
• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and assess vital signs.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition during recovery.
• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders.
• Assess pain levels and provide appropriate pain management.
• Monitor patients for anesthesia-related complications and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Educate patients and families regarding recovery and discharge instructions.
• Participate in weekend call rotation as required.

Requirements

• Active RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an ASU/PACU or Critical Care unit .
• Current BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Strong patient assessment, monitoring, and recovery care skills.
• Ability to work daytime shifts and participate in weekend call rotation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Schedule & Assignment Details

• Shift: Days, four 9-hour shifts.
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week.
• Positions Available: 1.
• Position Urgency: Quick Start.
• Weekend Call: Required rotation.
• Holiday Coverage: Not required.
• Overtime: Calculated weekly after 40 hours, at the all-inclusive rate + $5.
• On-Call Pager: $1/hour.
• Call-Back Rate: All-inclusive Pay rate + $3, with a 2-hour minimum.
• Holiday Rate: All-inclusive pay rate + $7.
