We're seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Surgeon MD/DO for a high-priority locums assignment in Joplin, MO, beginning December 18. This is more than a one-time holiday need - the facility anticipates ongoing coverage for 1-2 weeks per month throughout 2027.

• December 18, 2026 - January 2, 2027
• Coverage through January 3 or January 8 welcomed
• Ongoing 2027 need - 1-2 weeks per month
• Drive-in candidates preferred
• IMLC candidates considered

• High-volume cardiovascular surgery program
• Approximately 130 CABG cases annually
• Strong TAVR program with similar annual volume
• Advanced adult cardiac + vascular case mix
• General thoracic experience highly valued
• 3 Dedicated CVORs
• Hybrid OR + 2 dedicated cardiovascular ORs
• DaVinci Xi Robotic System
• Dedicated CV OR, anesthesia and perfusion teams
• CVICU support
• Extensive APP support
• Opportunity for consistent recurring coverage in 2027

The primary focus is advanced adult cardiac and vascular surgery, including:

• CABG
• TAVR
• Adult Cardiac Surgery
• Vascular Surgery
• Cardiovascular Surgical Emergencies
• Postoperative Management
• Inpatient Rounding
• General Thoracic Surgery experience is a strong plus

Average weekday coverage is approximately 6-8 hours, depending on the surgical schedule and case volume. Some days may run longer based on cases, while others may finish earlier.

Weekend coverage primarily consists of rounding with the APP team. Onsite surgical intervention is generally reserved for urgent or emergent cases.

You'll work alongside an experienced heart team that includes:

5 Interventional Cardiologists 2 General Cardiologists 1 Electrophysiologist 2 Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeons

The program also offers strong APP coverage for inpatient rounding and consults, allowing the surgeon to remain focused on operative care.

• MD/DO Cardiovascular Surgeon
• Active Missouri license or IMLC
• IMLC candidates must be able to obtain MO license before start
• Board Certified or Board Eligible
• BE candidates must obtain certification within 5 years of residency
• Broad adult cardiac and vascular surgical capabilities
• Thoracic experience preferred
• Clean malpractice history strongly preferred
• Ability to provide recurring 2027 coverage highly preferred
