Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation in the Family Medicine Clinic. Is responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for patients based on nursing practice standards, immediate personnel on unit and some managerial responsibilities. Collaborates effectively with other RN Charges to help drive clinic best practices and coordinate clinic patient and process flows across clinic. Collaborates with other healthcare professional to provide quality, cost-effective and efficient care and to achieve the best possible patient outcome. Serves as a resource person when the situation requires. Applies age specific considerations and cultural diversity when rendering patient care. Supports Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation's mission statement. Is responsible for care of all patients from birth to elderly.

Position Responsibilities

1. Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.

2. Leads Quality Improvement initiatives and Best Practice Benchmarking.

3. Participates in activities that ensure competency.

4. Maintains proper staffing in the department.

5. Assists with maintaining accountability for fiscal management of the department.

6. Decisions and actions on behalf of patients are determined in an ethical manner.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Education: Must have completed a program of education in nursing from an NLN approved institution. BSN Preferred

Minimum Experience: 4 years charge experience in a Clinic or Urgent Care facility

License, Certification, Registration: In addition, must be licensed in good standing in the State of Alaska as a Registered Professional Nurse. Current BLS. The successful candidate will be required to pass and maintain competencies for this position.
