Position Overview
Quality Process Services (QPS) is seeking an experienced HVAC/R Technician for a rotational position in Carlsbad, New Mexico. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration equipment supporting an industrial oil and gas operation.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, airflow, temperature-control, and refrigeration-related equipment problems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine equipment inspections.
- Repair or replace motors, compressors, thermostats, valves, controls, fans, belts, and other HVAC components.
- Troubleshoot HVAC electrical components, wiring, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
- Perform system startups, testing, and operational checks following maintenance or repairs.
- Respond to equipment failures and emergency service requests as needed.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
- Document inspections, completed repairs, equipment conditions, and recommended maintenance.
- Maintain tools, equipment, work areas, and the provided company vehicle.
- Follow all QPS and customer safety policies and procedures.
- Work independently while communicating effectively with customer representatives and QPS management.
Qualifications
- Several years of hands-on HVAC service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair experience.
- Commercial, industrial, or oilfield HVAC experience is preferred.
- Experience with refrigeration systems is strongly preferred.
- EPA Section 608 or EPA Universal certification is preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and equipment schematics.
- Ability to work independently in a field-service environment.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Ability to work a 14-day-on/14-day-off rotation in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
