What’s a typical day as Melt Supervisor? You’ll be:

• Leading and supervising all melt department personnel, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
• Overseeing furnace operation, charge preparation, metal chemistry, temperature control, and pouring practices.
• Verifying materials, additives, and consumables are used per melt instructions and maintaining accurate melt records.
• Collaborating with quality, engineering, maintenance, and other teams to ensure consistent production and prevent defects.
• Inspecting equipment and coordinating repairs/maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Driving accountability, coaching, and continuous improvement among team members.
• Ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
• Communicating production status, equipment needs, and quality concerns to management.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in materials science, manufacturing, engineering, or related technical field preferred).
• Bring 3–5 years of foundry, melt, casting, or metallurgical experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Possess strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
• Are proficient in computer applications related to production and reporting.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead teams and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Are comfortable working in an industrial environment and able to walk or stand for extended periods (up to twelve hours), occasionally lift/move up to 75 lbs, and perform physical tasks as required.
