Assistant Cheerleading Coach

Post University's Cheer Team is a game-day-focused program dedicated to developing collegiate cheerleading skills while supporting athletic events and representing the University at campus functions. The team performs at athletic competitions, university events, and other community engagement opportunities.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Cheer Coach to support the continued growth and success of our cheer program. Working closely with the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach will help lead, motivate, and develop student-athletes by teaching proper cheerleading techniques, assisting with skill progression, choreographing and rehearsing routines, and preparing the team for game day performances and special events. The successful candidate will foster a positive team culture, promote sportsmanship and student success, and serve as a strong role model for student-athletes.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for cheerleading, strong technical knowledge of collegiate-level skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and athletic department personnel.

This is a part-time position, up to 20 hours per week, paid by stipend.

Schedule: Flexible; may include weekend and evening hours.

Essential Accountabilities:
• Assist in planning and executing practice sessions and game day routines.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships within the university.
• Demonstrate proper techniques for stunts, tumbling, jumping, and dance.
• Ensure safety of all participants by following proper safety protocols.
• Motivate cheerleaders to reach their full potential.
• Organize and lead team practices, study halls, and game days, assisting the head coach. • Attend University events and other cheerleading events. Job Type:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required, with administrative and coaching experience.
• Demonstrate commitment to NCAA and institutional guidelines and regulations.
• Understanding of and commitment to the NCAA's primary purpose of maintaining intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the educational program and the athlete as an integral part of the student body
• Demonstrated success working in intercollegiate athletics or a highly related field.
• Ability to recruit and hire qualified student-athletes.
• Demonstration of commitment to academic and fiscal integrity
• Proven leadership skills - both soft and hard skills must be demonstrable.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form.
• Experience in negotiating and maintaining vendor contracts where appropriate.
• Possess strong analytical skills - desire and ability to use data for decision-making - maintain a metrics-based organization (again - this is part of our culture)
• Proven experience at working in a collaborative matrix environment where individuals and teams are reliant upon each other for their collective success regardless of reporting structure.
