Registered Nurse - Med-Surg Telemetry Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12-Hour Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, including weekends and holidays.

Job Description

The Med-Surg Telemetry unit is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to manage a diverse patient population, including those with cardiac, diabetes, congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), renal issues, general surgery needs, and orthopedic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:6, providing high-quality nursing care.
• Administer medications and titrate insulin, heparin, and Lasix drips as required.
• Collaborate with a healthcare team consisting of RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries.
• Float to similar acuity units as needed based on patient census.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Proficiency with insulin, heparin, and Lasix drips is a must.
• A current Nursys report dated within the past 7 days is required at the time of submission.
• Previous charge experience and familiarity with Meditech charting system preferred.
