Sr. Principal Engineer Electronics – Mission Processing Location: Melbourne, FL (no hybrid or remote work; 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off) The role requires in-depth knowledge of computers and electronics for mission processing, displays data storage, networks, CDS/MLS, and crypto, and experience in defining, designing, integrating, testing, and certifying related hardware and software. Responsibilities include requirement development, system architecture design, hardware integration, trade studies, documentation, performance analysis, and collaboration with Integrated Product Teams and stakeholders. Job Responsibilities Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate mission management subsystems to meet platform mission objectives Provide technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support Develop supplier documentation, performance‑based specifications, and statements of work Build supplier evaluation criteria and conduct technical evaluations, documenting results and selection Review supplier development documents and support technical interchange meetings and design reviews Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related professional/military experience, OR Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related experience Experience developing model‑based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering in Cameo or similar tools Experience in supplier/subcontract management Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance‑based specifications, and statements of work Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection Ability to review supplier documents and support technical interchange meetings and design reviews Must have an active US Government Secret Clearance (background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Top Secret clearance Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with network, commercial cloud, platform infrastructures and containerized software architecture Familiarity with Digital Engineering processes and environments Knowledge of system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis, flow‑down, specification derivation and interface control documentation Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work well in a close team environment Experience engaging directly with internal and external technical and programmatic representatives Problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to assimilate new concepts quickly and work independently in a self‑directed manner Experience in model‑based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML tools Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tools (Jira and Confluence) Experience or certification with cloud and container management & security technologies such as VMWare, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Docker, Redhat OpenShift, Amazon ECS, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Nomad Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 – $184,200.00 (guideline; final offer based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education and market conditions) Benefits include: health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays, paid time off (vacation and personal business), overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives for VP/Director positions.
