Retail Sales Associate

Job Overview Cox Communications, Inc. is hiring a Retail Sales Associate to work in our store locations. The role is an individual contributor position requiring shift work on evenings, weekends, and holidays. Compensation includes an hourly base rate of $19.00/hr and a monthly targeted commission structure (total target compensation is $57,172 annually). The base hourly rate ranges from $15.29 to $22.88, varying by location and experience. Responsibilities Explain and demonstrate product capabilities to customers and offer suggestions based on their needs. Meet or exceed customer experience, sales, and retention targets. Assist with opening and closing the retail environment. Handle cash transactions accurately. Participate in workshops, special events, and product demos. Support fellow sales agents as needed. Continuously expand knowledge of Cox products and competitor offerings through training. May be required to work at other locations within the same geographical area. Qualifications High school diploma or GED; or up to two years of relevant work experience. Ability to meet established sales, retention, and customer experience targets. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; consultative sales approach. Ability to build relationships with a diverse customer base. Multi‑tasking and prioritization in a fast‑paced team environment. Mobile within the store for extended periods. Computer literacy and aptitude for learning new products. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Ability to lift 25–50 pounds for inventory tasks. Preferred: Some college coursework in sales, business, or management. Preferred: One year of experience in sales or retail. Preferred: Experience selling wireless/mobile products. Preferred: Fluency in Spanish, written and spoken.
