This position is to support future programs as a design release engineer. The purpose of this position is to take a part or group of parts thru the entire product development life cycle from design thru production and warranty. Individuals will act as a program manager of assigned parts to ensure that quality, timeline and development milestones are reached.

There is a lot of communication with various groups within the organization as well as with the supply base that the employee could be working with.

Parts for this position involve bumpers, fascia's grills and exterior trim components and are focused on, but not limited to plastic and chrome parts.

This position requires a high amount of program management skills and the ability to drive change with other parts of the organization.

Travel for these positions are generally 10% overnight travel or less.

Summary:

The main function of a mechanical engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. A typical mechanical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.

Job Responsibilities:

• Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.

• Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.

• Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew.

• Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, MI.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.

This is a hybrid position in Warren,MI.
