Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine

BluePearl Pet Hospital - Licensed Veterinary Technician (Internal Medicine) - Tukwila, WA LVT Pay: $26.75 - $51.32 hr (starting point, dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system). Shift Differential: Competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for weekends (minimum 4‑hour shift). Job Overview As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician, you are a liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in‑person conversations. Additionally, you will assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, fill prescriptions, take x‑rays, obtain lab samples. Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required. Key Responsibilities Set up constant rate infusions (CRI). Calculate all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.). Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia. Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures. Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway). Clean and maintain equipment following procedures. Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations. Additional job duties as assigned.
