ETL QA Lead Remote

The ETL Tester, Lead will have deep product knowledge focused on defining, implementing, and promoting consistent test practices within the team. They will be responsible for delivering the overall testing practice within their domain to identify potential problems and ensure quality before product launch. They will demonstrate a passion for high quality software, strong engineering principles and methodical problem-solving skills. This role will assist in driving to deliver high quality products through governing adherence to defined standards, execution excellence, identifying opportunities for improvement and coaching teams to realize them.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Define test strategies focused on the overall quality of the product and speed of releases.
• Lead code reviews and defect remediation for code deployed into production.
• Coordinate team of QA testers from offshore.
• Identifying areas for the team to improve code coverage, reduce manual steps needed to validate data correctness and define acceptable quality levels.
• Contributes to the development of features based on availability.
• Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, testability, and maintainability.
• Recommend improvements into overall best practices, design, testability and quality and productivity.

Education preferred: Bachelor's Degree

Experience required:

• 10+ years of overall experience with at least 6 years as a Quality Engineer Lead in Data warehouse and ETL testing.
• Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Snowflake).
• Advanced knowledge of test engineering practices within an Agile SDLC methodology.
• Experience in organizational transformation, leading efforts to instill a culture of testing.
• Track record of timely delivery of high-quality software.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, able to communicate with technical people as well as business and management.
• Excellent problem solving, issue identification and technical documentation skills.
• Experience in working on large scale data integration projects
• Experience testing Data Warehouse, ETL, and Big Data environments and have defined test approaches for testing data warehouse projects.

Skills required:

• Experience working in a distributed team of onshore / offshore engineering resources.
• Manages quality/test challenges at the team level, providing guidance, training, technical support, and mentorship.
• Experience with ETL Tools like Informatica PowerCenter, DataStage, etc.
• Experience working with reporting tools such as Oracle BI, Tableau, Sigma
• Extensive exposure to Back-end/ETL testing with high-level of SQL skills is required
• Experience in writing complex SQL queries, ability to determine the types of testing that must be conducted (i.e., data validation, regression, etc.), including evaluating the testability of requirements and create a comprehensive test plan that supports the business and technological solutions being delivered.
• Understanding of different databases like SSMS, Oracle, Workbench, Snowflake.
• Should have hands on experience on Cloud services such as AWS, Azure, IICS.
• Knowledge on FiveTran, Dbt, Airflow is a PLUS.
