Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist The EHS Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive Environmental, Health & Safety programs across all distribution centers and branch locations. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a strong safety culture that minimizes risk, prevents injuries, and supports operational excellence in an industrial distribution environment. Flexible schedule & no weekends Paid holidays, paid vacation, and attendance awards Competitive pay with overtime eligibility Ultra‑modern, climate‑controlled, fully automated warehouse that minimizes bending & lifting Growth opportunities locally and nationally (promotion from within) Tuition reimbursement 401(k) with company match PPO medical, vision, and company‑paid dental Company‑paid short‑term disability, long‑term disability, life insurance, EAP Voluntary employee/spouse/child life insurance; accident, hospital indemnity, critical illness insurance Uniform shirts provided Visit our website for more information: Position responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain company‑wide EHS policies, programs, and training initiatives Lead safety initiatives focused on hazard identification, injury prevention, and risk reduction Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across multiple locations Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state and local regulations Maintain required safety documentation, including OSHA logs, SDS records, and training records Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions Coordinate workers’ compensation claims, return‑to‑work programs, and injury case management in partnership with HR and Operations Develop and deliver safety training, including new‑hire onboarding and ongoing employee education Oversee environmental compliance, including hazardous materials handling, waste management, and spill prevention Track and report safety metrics and partner with leadership to drive continuous safety improvements across the organization Required experience Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Safety, Environmental Health, or Industrial Engineering 3–7 years of EHS experience in distribution, manufacturing, warehousing, or industrial environments Strong knowledge of OSHA 30 regulations and safety management systems Experience conducting audits, investigations, and employee training Ability to travel regularly to distribution centers and branch locations Professional certifications such as CPR, First Aid, CSP, ASP, CHMM, or equivalent Experience supporting multi‑site operations Forklift safety, hazardous materials, and DOT compliance experience Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills Physical requirements Ability to walk distribution centers and branch facilities for audits and inspections Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs Travel required (approximately 40–60 %) Additional duties may include other related tasks to meet the ongoing needs of the company.
