About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified IMC RN in Asheville, North Carolina, 28801!

• Receive admitted patients from the ED, complete Admission Assessments, Medication Reconciliation, and initiate acute care orders as part of a Clinical Decision / Direct Admit Unit focused on ED decompression and enhanced throughput
• Provide step-down and med-surg level care across a wide variety of diagnoses in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment with patient ratios of 1:5 (Step-Down) and 1:6 (MedSurg)
• Utilize Cerner for clinical documentation and Baxter IV pumps for patient care
• Float to other units within your skill set as needed, including potential opportunities in a CMU Telemetry Unit or as an ED Transport Nurse
• Uphold patient safety as the primary focus while contributing to a team-oriented, free-charge unit model supported by CNAs
• Maintain active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications throughout the assignment

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact state eligibility)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in MedSurg, Telemetry (remote), and/or Step-Down (PCU)
• Positive, team-focused attitude with the ability to thrive in a high-acuity, quick-turnover clinical environment

• Charge Nurse experience or willingness to take on charge responsibilities
• Additional clinical certifications beyond the required minimums
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records
• Well-rounded clinical background across multiple diagnoses and patient populations

• This unit has a strong track record of travel nurse satisfaction - many travelers have requested extensions and have remained with the team for multiple years
• Additional role opportunities may be available within the facility, including centralized telemetry monitoring and ED transport nursing, offering variety and professional growth during your assignment
