Clinic Registered Nurse (RN): Quick Care

Employment Type and Shift Full time – 36 hours per week, 12‑hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM Monday‑Friday, 6:30 AM – 1:00 PM weekends). The position requires working every fourth weekend. Quick Care Services Scope Allergies Burns Colds Coughs Cut stitches Earaches or ear infections Fevers Minor medical problems and injuries Minor eye care Flu Fractures (X‑ray on‑site) Infections Sore throats Sprains, including sprained ankles (X‑ray on‑site) Urinary tract infections (UTIs) Yeast infections Certain rapid tests Responsibilities Provide safe, effective, evidence‑based patient care in outpatient settings. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using nursing processes. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments (physical, psychosocial, nutritional, functional, safety, spiritual, cultural, and educational). Administer medications and treatments via multiple routes and document accordingly. Perform nursing care, lab and diagnostic tests, specimen collection, phlebotomy, and limited radiology procedures. Assist providers with patient care, phone/mail/fax communications, scheduling, consents, admissions, referrals, and outpatient procedures. Communicate and collaborate with physicians, staff, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding care plans. Educate patients, families, and clinical staff on treatments, medications, test preparation, discharge, and health maintenance. Participate in staff meetings, committees, quality improvement, risk management, and performance improvement projects. Maintain accurate and complete documentation in EMR (assessments, vitals, symptoms, treatments, medications, education, charges, lab results, histories, consults). Manage supplies, equipment, medication stock, and office machines; report malfunctions. Recognize and respond to urgent/emergency patient needs and initiate emergency procedures. Perform other duties as needed and assigned by the manager. General Requirements Active RN license in the state of Iowa (other state licenses may be required). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire. Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire. Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows environment, web‑based navigation, email, MS Office). Ability to read, write, and understand English. Ability to work with diverse groups in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring. Education and Certification NCLEX passed.
