Reinstatement Specialist

Overview DriveTime Family of Brands includes in‑house financing and servicing through Bridgecrest, which is one of the country’s leading financial servicing providers. Bridgecrest services roughly $25+billion in finance receivables for DriveTime and other third parties. We service auto loans across a wide credit spectrum with the intent of creating a strong path to vehicle ownership for our customers. Responsibilities Support high volume of inbound/outbound calls to service customers who have been repossessed, guiding them through the reinstatement/redemption or personal property journey based on defined business criteria and state requirements. Negotiate payments and offer tools to support reinstatement of customers. Support post‑reinstatement administrative functions to assist account administration and/or vehicle/personal property release to customer or third‑party. Communicate with recovery vendors and auctions to verify personal property and vehicle release details. Support the Reverse Charge Off process from end to end—obtain approvals, submit requests through internal ticketing system, email requests to reinstate ancillary products, and submit requests to correct Credit Bureau inquiries. Process and submit personal property/vehicle release paperwork to recovery vendor or auction in a timely manner. Monitor payment correction process to ensure compliant allocation of funds to customer accounts. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Clear, concise and professional written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Strong time management and organizational skills, and ability to maintain a consistent and positive demeanor in a fast‑paced work environment. Ability to prioritize and multi‑task to achieve assigned performance objectives. Effectively apply professional acumen and communication skills to favorably resolve issues escalated by internal and external customers. Knowledge of collection policies/procedures including skip tracing and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and local state repossession law. Strong negotiation and conflict management skills. Self‑motivated with strong decision‑making capabilities; ability to self‑start. Work accurately, detail‑oriented and highly productive. Requirements High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification. 3+ years of experience in collections, loss mitigation and/or financial services complaint resolution. Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word). Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or related field may be used as a proxy for experience. Physical Demands Must remain in a stationary position at least 75% of the time, occasionally move within the office, operate computer and office equipment. Requires visual acuity and manual dexterity. May need to move objects up to 20 pounds.
