- This is a traditional project manager role. Although some teams at Grainger run in an agile fashion, the Infrastructure projects tend to follow a traditional waterfall process where scope and dates are critical.

- Responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating project teams through waterfall/agile/hybrid project management practices.
- Manage multiple concurrent, high visibility projects across various business units or teams.
- Focus on adapting project delivery approaches to balance agility and predictability.
- Directly manage IT projects supporting Infrastructure, Information Security, Business Systems & Operations, and Insights, Data Engineering & Analytics.
- Develop and manage project scope and schedule with a focus on timely delivery of value.
- Organize and lead project status and working meetings; manage risks, issues, and escalations.
- Build and manage project schedules based on defined scope and resource constraints.
- Gather and provide project level estimates and reporting (Status, Risks/Issues, Leadership Escalations).
- Facilitate work across multiple technical teams, business units, 3rd party vendors/partners, and other projects as needed.
- BA/BS or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of Information Technology Project Management experience.
- Solid understanding of waterfall/agile/hybrid project management principles and practices.
- Ability to evaluate project risks and issues accurately and objectively.
- Strong relationship management skills in a highly matrixed organization.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred.
- Agile certifications such as PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certifications are helpful.
