Sales Executive - Rigid Containers, Labels and Flexible Packaging

Optify Search is partnering with a growing packaging business serving brands across rigid packaging, flexible packaging, labels, automation-ready solutions, and cultivation-related product applications. Based in Salt Lake City, the business is recognised for speed, innovation, and service, helping customers move faster and operate smarter across complex packaging needs.

The Opportunity

This is a high-impact full-cycle sales role for a commercially sharp salesperson who thrives on winning new business while also growing an assigned book of accounts. The ideal candidate will bring strong B2B sales experience, with the ability to sell consultatively across multiple stakeholders and manage opportunities from prospecting through discovery, quoting, negotiation, close, delivery, and long-term growth. You’ll be responsible for building new customer relationships, expanding existing accounts, and representing my client’s full packaging platform across strategic target markets, while working closely with internal teams to deliver smooth launches and strong customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cycle

• Own the sales process from prospecting through discovery, quoting, negotiation, close, and account growth.
• Acquire new packaging customers across targeted territories, markets, and strategic account lists.
• Retain, manage, and grow an assigned book of business through expansion and competitive displacement opportunities.
• Maintain a healthy pipeline of new business, retention, and growth opportunities.
• Provide accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasts to sales leadership.

Account Growth

• Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across my client’s broader packaging offering.
• Create account plans for strategic customers and conduct regular business reviews.
• Develop a deep understanding of each customer’s market, product mix, purchasing process, growth plans, and competitive risks.
• Build long-term relationships with brand owners, procurement teams, operations leaders, compliance stakeholders, and executive decision makers.

Commercial Execution

• Sell my client’s full packaging platform, including rigid packaging, flexible packaging, pressure sensitive labels, decorated packaging, automation-ready solutions, and cultivation-related technology.
• Work closely with estimating, customer operations, art, prepress, product, and production teams to support accurate quotes and successful launches.
• Present packaging solutions that address cost, speed, compliance, branding, automation, and supply chain reliability.
• Use HubSpot consistently to manage activity, opportunities, next steps, deal notes, and forecast data.

Market Focus and Customer Engagement

• Stay current on market dynamics, competitor offerings, pricing trends, and packaging innovation.
• Capture Voice of Customer feedback and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
• Conduct in-person customer meetings, plant tours, trade show meetings, and onsite visits regularly.
• Travel as needed to support strategic customer relationships and industry events.

What I’m Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience.
• Proven track record of winning new business and growing existing accounts.
• Experience managing a full sales cycle from prospecting to close.
• Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders.
• Strong commercial judgment, negotiation ability, and business acumen.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and follow-up skills.
• Strong CRM discipline and accurate pipeline management.
• Experience in packaging, labels, cannabis, CPG, manufacturing, or technical product sales preferred.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Salt Lake City, Utah, and work in person .
