Veterinary Urgent Care Center (VUCC) is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our growing team. If you enjoy a fast-paced environment, thrive on challenging cases, and want to utilize your technical skills to the fullest extent of your certification, we'd love to meet you.

At VUCC, you'll experience the variety and excitement of urgent care medicine while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Our team manages everything from wellness concerns and minor illnesses to respiratory distress, wound management, same-day surgeries, and emergency stabilization prior to referral when needed.

Our technicians are highly valued members of the medical team and are empowered to perform diagnostics, treatments, and procedures under doctor direction. This is the ideal opportunity for technicians who want more excitement than traditional general practice but without the demands of overnight emergency medicine.

Obtain patient histories and perform triage assessments

Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture

Administer medications and injections

Collect diagnostic samples and perform in-house laboratory testing

Perform ultrasound-guided cystocentesis

Monitor hospitalized and surgical patients

Assist with same-day surgical procedures

Communicate with clients regarding patient care and treatment plans

Collaborate closely with veterinarians to provide exceptional urgent care medicine

Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)

This position includes:

Monday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Friday: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Every other Saturday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Hospital Hours:

Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Saturday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Sunday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

The Credentailed Veterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and/or state and will be outlined by the state's Veterinary Practice Act and/or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable.

Be a Lifeline for Patients in Crisis: You'll be on the front lines, utilizing your full skillset in triage, stabilization, patient monitoring, and critical care under veterinarian supervision.

Provide Clarity in Critical Moments: You'll be a vital and calming link for pet owners, clearly explaining treatments, reviewing discharge instructions, and providing reassurance during stressful times.

Lead and Elevate Your Team: In a fast-paced setting, you'll guide and support your colleagues, ensuring a smooth workflow and fostering a focused, collaborative atmosphere.

Ensure Seamless Care: Your clear and accurate record-keeping in a fast-paced environment will be crucial for patient handoffs, case management, and effective team communication.

A calm, efficient, and decisive approach, especially during medical emergencies.

Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program and a current state license in good standing.

Proficiency in a range of technical skills, with a strong aptitude for emergency procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and critical care nursing.

Confidence in handling animals of all temperaments and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively under pressure.

One year of experience in a veterinary setting is preferred; urgent care or emergency experience is a plus!
