Flooring Sales Associate

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers as they shop for flooring products, providing knowledgeable recommendations based on their needs and budget.
• Guide customers through the entire sales process, from initial consultation to project completion, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction at every step.
• Promptly return customer calls and follow up to address questions or concerns.
• Conduct accurate measurements at job sites and prepare clear, precise work orders.
• Prepare and send bids to retail customers within 24 hours of measurement.
• Maintain signed contracts for every job and ensure pricing is transparent and easy to understand.
• Network and participate in community events to promote sales growth and company visibility.
• Attend sales meetings and participate in company-sponsored training sessions on selling strategies.
• Collaborate with installers and schedulers to review work orders and ensure project accuracy.
• Manage sample check-out procedures and ensure samples are returned and organized promptly.
• Track customer interactions and complete thank you cards for clients who make purchases.
• Assist with opening and closing the store, and perform routine housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Route incoming calls to the appropriate department or person and perform filing duties as needed.
• Forward customer service issues to the Service Scheduling Coordinator and notify customers when materials have arrived.
• Adhere to all internal policies, procedures, and company guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong verbal communication skills and a friendly, engaging personality.
• Ability to perform accurate measurements using a tape measure and assess job site conditions.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to create clear and precise work orders and contracts.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively address customer needs.
• Comfortable working with the public and providing excellent customer service.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Technical aptitude to understand product information and specialized topics.
• Professional, helpful, and polite demeanor.
• Ability to lift and carry samples up to 50 pounds, kneel, stoop, bend, crawl, and climb stairs or ladders as needed.
• Willingness to work regular days, evenings, weekends, and in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
