The Big Tasks of a Residential Generator Sales Representative
The Residential Generator Sales Representative generates profitable sales from company-provided leads and self-generated referrals, guiding homeowners to informed, confident decisions about backup power. Current Electric is a well-established leader in home generator solutions and a factory-authorized dealer with Generac, Kohler, and Briggs . This position helps customers protect their homes and increase their peace of mind through reliable electrical dependability solutions, while leading by example and demonstrating the core values of Current Electric.

Key Responsibilities

• Run company-provided leads to educate homeowners in a consultative manner.
• Adhere to the company's established sales process from initial contact through close of sale.
• Prepare, schedule, and deliver custom-tailored generator proposals.
• Educate and mentor customers on generator and backup power solutions as needed.
• Maintain an understanding of local utilities and metering.
• Self-generate leads through networking, neighborhood canvassing, and educational events on the benefits of home backup power.
• Learn to identify and recommend the correct generator solution for a homeowner's unique backup power needs.
• Determine a home's power needs and the generator size required.
• Deal effectively with all inquiries and represent Current Electric in a professional manner.
• Build value in our company and products to gain enthusiastic buy-in from the customer.
• Become an authority on generator solutions and help educate customers.
• Uphold team values and commitments, and participate in training and growth opportunities.
• Track progress against sales goals and performance metrics.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Minimum 3+ years of proven successful sales, customer service, or fundraising experience.
• Generator sales experience preferred.
• Experience in sales, canvassing, fundraising, or any fast-paced role showcasing confidence, communication, persuasiveness, and people skills.
• Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
• Ability to use sound judgment in qualifying (or disqualifying) customers.
• Willingness to learn new technology and procedures in a rapidly changing industry.
• Experience with ServiceTitan or another CRM system is a plus.
• Flexible to work some evenings and weekends as needed by clients.
• Prior knowledge of generators is not required. Current Electric will provide training to the right individual.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. now and in the future without sponsorship for employment visa status.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Valid driver's license and insurable on the company driver insurance policy.

Job Details

• Job Type: Full-time, some evening and weekend scheduling required as needed by clients
• Pay: Gross margin commission plan with allowance package. Earning potential is uncapped.
• Experience Level: 3+ years of proven sales experience, generator sales experience preferred
• Location: Wauwatosa, Wisconsin
• Commute/Relocation: Must reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting
