Make a lasting impact in the lives of students by using your expertise as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. A contract opportunity is available for a skilled professional to provide part-time support within a collaborative district environment. The position runs from ASAP through March 2026, with potential for extension as the district’s needs evolve.
You’ll enjoy flexibility in your weekly schedule—ideally 10-15 hours—and have influence over your assigned age groups and school locations based on your preferences. In this valuable role, you’ll partner with a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf to ensure all students with hearing loss receive the support they need across the district.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Massachusetts Teacher of the Deaf teaching certificate required
- Professional experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings
- Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet student needs and preferences
- Comfortable managing caseloads and documentation
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support services to deaf and hard of hearing students across assigned schools
- Collaborate with the district’s full-time Teacher of the Deaf to coordinate caseloads and service delivery
- Consult regularly with educators, families, and related service providers to develop and implement effective learning strategies
- Monitor student progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Advocate for student access, accommodations, and inclusive classroom practices
