Job DescriptionLead Housekeeping Associate – Saint Luke's East HospitalFull-Time Day Shift | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PMThe OpportunitySaint Luke's East Hospital in Lee's Summit is seeking a Lead Housekeeping Associate to provide frontline leadership and operational oversight within the Environmental Services Department. This role serves as a key liaison between Environmental Services leadership, housekeepers, nursing units, and hospital departments to ensure a clean, safe, and healing environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.As a Lead Housekeeping Associate, you will play a critical role in infection prevention, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and workforce development. You will oversee daily staffing assignments, conduct quality inspections, coach team members, address operational issues in real time, and support the department's commitment to making Saint Luke's \"The Best Place to Get Care. The Best Place to Give Care.\"The Shift- Full-Time- Five-day work week- Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM- Rotating weekends (every other weekend)- Rotating holidaysThe WorkOperational Leadersh ipCoordinate and oversee daily Environmental Services operations during first shift.Assign work areas and responsibilities to housekeeping staff based on operational priorities and facility needs.Monitor staffing coverage and adjust assignments as needed to ensure service levels are maintained.Serve as the first point of contact for operational concerns, service requests, and workflow challenges.Conduct daily rounding within assigned areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance.Quality and Infection PreventionPerform routine quality inspections and audits of patient rooms, public areas, offices, procedural areas, and support spaces.Ensure compliance with approved cleaning and disinfection procedures, infection prevention standards, Joint Commission requirements, and departmental expectations.Provide immediate coaching and corrective action when quality deficiencies are identified.Assist in maintaining readiness for regulatory surveys and accreditation inspections.Staff Training and DevelopmentTrain, orient, and mentor new Environmental Services team members.Reinforce proper cleaning techniques, equipment use, chemical safety, and department policies.Support ongoing competency development and provide real-time feedback to associates.Model professional behavior, accountability, and service excellence.Customer Service and CommunicationCollaborate with nursing units, clinical departments, and hospital leadership to address service needs and priorities.Respond promptly to patient room turnover requests, isolation room cleaning, and urgent cleaning situations.Communicate shift updates, operational concerns, staffing needs, and unresolved issues to leadership.Promote a positive customer service experience through professional and respectful interactions.Environmental Services ResponsibilitiesPerform all Environmental Services duties as needed, including:Cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms and bathroomsWaste, linen, and biohazard removalFloor care and maintenancePublic area cleaningDischarge room cleaningSpecial project work as assignedEnsure all equipment, chemicals, keys, communication devices, and supplies are properly maintained and accounted for at shift end.Must be knowledgeable in cleaning procedures, chemical usage, safety protocols, and operation of departmental equipment.QualificationsPrevious housekeeping, environmental services, or custodial experience required.Leadership, lead worker, or supervisory experience preferred.Healthcare Environmental Services experience preferred.Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently while leading a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.We Are Looking For Someone Who:Demonstrates strong leadership and accountability.Leads by example and promotes teamwork.Has a positive attitude and customer-focused mindset.Is adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Communicates effectively with staff, patients, and hospital partners.Takes ownership of quality outcomes and service excellence.Is committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and healing environment.Job RequirementsApplicable Experience:3-5 yearsDiplomaJob DetailsFull TimeDay (United States of America) #J-18808-Ljbffr
