Job Title: Registered Nurse - Obstetrics Profession: Nursing Specialty: Obstetrics Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36-48 hours per week Experience: Minimum years of experience required in acute care facility preferred License: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Must-Have: Experience in EPIC and Cerner Description: Delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and professional discretion. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and safety. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or patient’s situation. Collaborates with the patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe and supportive environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and the treatment team. Participates in discharge planning to provide continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Commits to safety and wellbeing by adhering to vaccination requirements as a condition of employment. This unit provides antepartum, antenatal, postpartum, and postnatal care for maternity patients. Gynecology patients are excluded. Note that this department does not include labor and delivery.
