ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

This position is for an experienced ICU Registered Nurse specializing in Neuro and Stroke care. The role involves providing high-quality patient care in an intensive care setting with a focus on critical illness management.

Schedule Details

Hours: 12-hour shifts
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: As needed

Orientation and Training

Monday: 6-8 hours of classroom and EKG training
Tuesday: 12-hour unit orientation
Non-billable Orientation: 8 hours

Floating Requirement

Candidates must be willing to float to other inpatient units and multiple locations within the region.

On-Call Requirement

None.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of strong ICU experience, specifically in Neuro and Stroke.
Proficient in EPIC Charting.
Must submit proof of a passed EKG test.
Preferred: 5+ years of experience.
New graduates are not accepted.

License and Certification Requirements

Current Illinois RN license.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.

Patient Care Ratio

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2, with occasional assignments of 1:3.

Credential Submission

Credentials must be submitted by the Thursday prior to the start date.
