Position Title Assistant Press Operator Pay Rate $25/hr Category / Shift Hourly Full-Time Physical Location 4328 Federal Drive Suite 105 Greensboro, NC 27410 Role Overview To ensure all finished product are printed accurately and meet all quality and customer standards. Areas of Responsibility Preventative maintenance Hang plates Put ink in press and maintain Put blanket on press Set up feeder Ensure coating is correct Prepare coater backing Assist 1st pressman as needed Sign off on quality sheet Perform other tasks as assigned Qualification & Experience Basic maintenance skills Ability to read and use ruler Some previous offset printing experience Individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily Language Skills Be able to communicate with supervisors and understand simple instructions. Be able to read and understand operator’s manual (Accommodations will be made to employees). Employee must also be able to write work orders and fill out necessary production paperwork. Mathematical Skills Must be able to add and subtract basic fractions (5+5). Be able to use a calculator for addition, subtraction, multiplying and dividing. Reasoning Ability Be able to isolate and solve basic mechanical problems – Basic machine troubleshooting. Employee will be given a color perception test. Physical Demands Employee must be able to lift up to 50-75 pounds from the ground above the head. This job requires some stooping, twisting and turning, repetitive wrist and hand motions including gripping, and standing on your feet all day. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment Employee must wear protective glasses, safety vest, earplugs and steel toe shoes. The plant is generally clean of debris and clutter, but the manufacturing process generates a fair amount of dust. There are hazardous materials in the manufacturing process (see MSDS book). The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
