Human Resources Specialist

Pay: $18.50+ per hour
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Location: Akron, OH – In-office

We are seeking an organized and dependable Human Resources Specialist to join a busy HR department. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong computer and administrative skills who is interested in building or expanding a career in Human Resources.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working on a computer, learns new systems quickly, pays close attention to detail, and can handle confidential information professionally.

What You'll Do

• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
• Enter and update employee information in HR systems and databases.
• Track employee licenses, credentials, expiration dates, and required documentation.
• Prepare reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, and other HR documents.
• Assist with new-hire and employee record processing.
• Support performance evaluation tracking and follow-up.
• Maintain HR spreadsheets and departmental records.
• Respond to routine HR emails and employee inquiries.
• Proofread documents and ensure information is entered accurately.
• Assist with recruiting and other HR administrative activities.
• Help with special projects and general HR department needs.

What We're Looking For

• Strong computer skills are required.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, email, databases, and other computer systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to learn new computer programs and processes quickly.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Dependable and able to manage deadlines and multiple responsibilities.
• Previous office or administrative experience is helpful.
• Previous HR experience is a plus, but not required.
