Boston Whaler - Gel Coater Night Shift

Location: Boston Whaler - Edgewater, FL Workplace Category: Onsite Travel Required: No Direct Reports: No Pay Range: $19.63 - $30.39 hourly Position Overview As part of the Boston Whaler team, you will apply gel coat to hulls, decks, and small parts according to boat orders. The role requires stamina, eagerness to learn, and the ability to follow instructions efficiently to meet deadlines. Essential Functions Ensure required parts and raw materials are ready for scheduled production Arrange materials in a specified order or pattern using documentation Mix pigments and gelcoat materials for accurate color matching Inspect gelcoat finishes for defects and make necessary adjustments Maintain gelcoat application equipment to ensure optimal performance Adhere to safety protocols and handle chemicals responsibly Communicate effectively with team members, designers, and customers Prioritize tasks and manage time to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Required Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education with at least one year of related experience Basic computer knowledge Ability to read, hear, interpret, and understand verbal and written instructions Preferred Qualifications Experience as a gelcoater or in a similar role; familiarity with boat manufacturing or repair processes Proactive, self-starter with strong attention to improvement Excellent reasoning, research, and problem-solving skills Strong reading comprehension and writing skills; ability to work with computer terminals and complete routine paperwork Capability to remain focused and organized with high accuracy Experience with MS Office, MRP software, and modern warehousing practices Working Conditions Shop floor environment, non-climate controlled Temperature fluctuates with outdoor conditions, including hot and humid environments, especially in summer Moderate noise level with occasional spikes Mandatory use of safety glasses, Tyvex apron, half mask respirator, and other PPE Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, resins, fiberglass dust, epoxy, composites, and chemicals Requirements to walk or stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, climb, and lift up to 35 pounds Vision requirements: close, peripheral, and depth perception Benefits Eligible to participate in Brunswick’s comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid vacation, 401(k) with up to 4% match, Health Savings Account with company contribution, wellness program, product purchase discounts, and more.
