Senior Consultant - Technology, Media and Telecommunications | Strategic Communications

About the Role FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communications segment is seeking an enthusiastic senior consultant to specialize in public affairs and communication services for technology‑sector clients. The role will support a range of accounts involved in quantum computing, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, robotics, and digital marketplace platforms, offering strategic counsel on regulatory environments, public perception, and stakeholder engagement. What You’ll Do Monitor media and policy developments, preparing regular reports for internal use and clients. Identify and manage team and firm participation at relevant events, supporting FTI-hosted events. Support the organization and development of team documents such as staffing trackers, trending issues trackers, summit agendas, team bios, and case studies. Collaborate with colleagues across sectors and practices at FTI. Participate in developing new business proposals, pitch materials, and presentations to grow client accounts. Client Delivery Develop a deep understanding of each client’s business strategy, key stakeholders, and competitive landscape. Execute integrated communication programs across multiple client accounts simultaneously. Conduct complex research and analysis to inform client recommendations. Identify and research relevant stakeholders and target audiences. Prepare polished, client-ready deliverables including memos, press releases, presentations, media summaries, social media content, and email communications. Evaluate and recommend timely editorial opportunities and engagements. Track program performance and create progress reports. Collaborate with managers to assess project resource needs and coordinate task assignments. Provide responsive support to client challenges and requests. Contribute to the growth of existing accounts by identifying new opportunities and supporting project execution. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s or graduate degree in communications, public relations, political science, international affairs, journalism, or a related field. 3+ years of professional experience in public policy, strategic communications, public relations, or a related field. Ability to travel to FTI offices and client sites as needed. Current eligibility to work full-time in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available. Preferred Qualifications Strong understanding of communications strategy and advocacy campaigns. Experience managing multiple tasks or projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Proven attention to detail and commitment to high-quality, client-ready deliverables. Advanced research abilities combined with strong public policy knowledge. Excellent writing, editing, and oral presentation skills. Knowledge of stakeholder engagement, media relations, and policy landscapes. Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple client projects. Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with frequent change. Service-oriented mindset focused on client satisfaction. Excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration across diverse teams. High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information. Self-motivated, proactive work ethic with initiative and independent problem solving. Familiarity with Associated Press (AP) Style guidelines. Proficiency with AI tools, publishing software, and social media platforms (e.g., X, LinkedIn). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Experience in a consulting firm or media, government, or NGO environment. Familiarity with media monitoring tools (e.g., Factiva, Cision) or analytics platforms. Experience supporting new business development or proposal writing. Familiarity with regulated industries such as industrials or public utilities.
