How You’ll Contribute A Physical Therapist (PT) who excels in this role will evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs, provide educational information to patients about injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy, and rehabilitation therapy, and supervise physical therapy assistants and aides. Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition. Establish an individualized plan of care appropriate to the patient’s problems and involve the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires. Plan, prepare, and carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, and prevent dysfunction. Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills appropriate for the age and condition of the patient. Direct and supervise physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Assess competence, delegate specific tasks, and establish communication channels. Administer treatment involving physical agents using equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines. Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications. Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for re-evaluation. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of hire. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to perform in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
