Pediatric Dietitian (Part-time)

Location: Medical Center-Prosper Department: Nutrition Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 4 hours Hours: This position will work daytime hours to provide coverage for staff on vacation, leave, etc. Normally 1 or more 8-hour shift per week, Monday through Friday. Opportunity to work additional hours. Overview The Pediatric Dietitian serves as an expert in current medical nutrition therapy and works as part of an interdisciplinary team within Cook Children's Medical Center (CCMC) in Prosper. The role acts as a float to provide coverage during daytime hours Monday through Friday, supporting staff on vacation or leave. The dietitian works with patients aged birth to 18 years to provide nutrition intervention and education based on goals, preferences, learning barriers, and readiness of the patient, family or caregivers, and staff. The dietitian provides professional guidance to in/outpatients, staff, outside agencies, students, and the community while maintaining patient confidentiality and honoring patient rights. The dietitian develops, verifies, and revises nutritional therapies to improve care and outcomes for patients and help CCMC achieve its goals and objectives. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field required. Effective January 1, 2024, all newly hired Registered Dietitians must hold a master’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field to be eligible for credentialing and employment. Current RD/RDN (Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) credential issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration required. Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the State of Texas required.
