Kennel Cleaner Part Time

The Town of Mansfield, Connecticut is seeking a part time Kennel Cleaner. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our current pets. Kennel cleaners are responsible for maintaining proper disease control, cleanliness of our facility, and providing a comfortable environment for our animals. Must be able to work as part of a team to properly maintain kennels, follow protocols, as well as monitoring health and well-being of our animals. The right candidate needs to be comfortable working with both dogs, cats, and occasionally rabbits. Previous animal care experience highly preferred.

The Mansfield Animal Shelter is part of the public safety department. Our highly motivated Shelter team currently consists of 3 certified animal control officers and 2 kennel cleaners. We provide 24/7 animal control services 365 days a week for the Town of Mansfield.

Mansfield, with a population of approximately 26,000, is located in the Northeastern portion of the state, better known as Connecticut's Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor. Home to the University of Connecticut, Mansfield offers the unique blend of urban, suburban, and rural living in a university setting. Mansfield has a variety of cultural and educational offerings, as well as an abundance of natural resources ideal for activities such as hiking, cycling, and kayaking.

This position is scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 am to 11:00 am minimum of 5 hours per week. Occasionally Sunday, holidays and Monday mornings. The work location is the Town of Mansfield Animal Shelter, 230 Clover Mill Road, Mansfield Center, CT 06250. Compensation The hourly rate of pay is $16.94-$18.40. The hiring rate of pay will depend upon the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. There are no benefits associated with this part-time position.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Candidate(s) must possess a valid driver's license. The selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain rabies vaccination and titers.
