About the Role:

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Dermatology plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered dermatologic care across a diverse patient population. This position involves diagnosing and managing a wide range of skin conditions, from common ailments to complex dermatologic diseases, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through evidence-based practices. The role requires collaboration with dermatologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medical, surgical, and cosmetic interventions. Minimum Qualifications:

• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in Oklahoma
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience or clinical training in dermatology, including knowledge of common dermatologic conditions and procedures.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DEA licensure for prescribing medications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Board certification or eligibility in dermatology for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.
• Experience working in a dermatology clinical setting.
• Advanced certifications related to dermatologic procedures or cosmetic dermatology.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) system: Meditech Expanse
• Strong background in patient education and counseling specific to dermatologic health.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive dermatologic assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing.
• Diagnose and treat a variety of skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin infections, and skin cancers.
• Perform dermatologic procedures including biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and laser treatments under the supervision or collaboration with dermatologists.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and adjust therapies as needed.
• Educate patients on skin care, disease prevention, and treatment adherence to promote long-term skin health.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and participate in case discussions and clinical meetings.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with regulatory standards and practice policies.
• Stay current with advances in dermatology through continuing education, professional development, and participation in relevant research or quality improvement projects.
