Medical Assistant - Diabetes & Endocrinology - Anderson Medical Pavilion (La Jolla)

This is a benefited, full-time position located at Scripps Anderson Medical Pavilion in La Jolla. The general schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There are no weekend or holiday shifts. Shift times may vary based on operational needs.

What you'll do: Seeking compassionate and motivated individual who thrives in a supportive and collaborative environment, demonstrating a strong commitment to patient care and teamwork. Assist in preparing for in-office procedures such as biopsies and Ultrasounds by setting up necessary equipment. Download blood sugar data from CGMs and blood glucose meters. Manage the scheduling of patient appointments, coordinating with both patients and providers to optimize clinic flow. Assist with managing clinic flow, scheduling patient follow-up appointments, communicating referral information, and discharge instructions. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients, working closely with experienced professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes. Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice including: Assisting in preparing patients for examination/procedures Assisting physicians with procedures Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person Collecting patient data in person and by phone Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review Administering medications specifically directed by the physician Performing vital sign documentation Scheduling of appointments and procedures Complete and accurate message taking Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction Order and referral entry Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics.

Qualifications Required Qualifications: Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program or a minimum of two years of experience as a Military Corpsman or Medical Assistant Certification BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred Qualifications: One year of previous MA experience Diabetes & Endocrinology experience
