Commercial Surety Manager - Southwest

Commercial Surety Underwriting Regional Manager/Sr. Manager Job Summary Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Surety Underwriting Regional Manager/Sr. Manager to lead a team. This role involves a combination of in-office responsibilities and travel within the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in underwriting, risk assessment, and team leadership, along with a proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships. Responsibilities Analyze and interpret business reports, including credit checks, bank agreements, and financial statements, to support underwriting decisions. Oversee risk selection, pricing, retention, growth, and profitability for the branch office. Assess risk quality in alignment with company guidelines and standards. Review underwriting decisions and provide recommendations for extending surety credit, including terms and conditions. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure effective communication across all levels. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering accountability and achievement of objectives. Make timely, informed decisions using independent judgment and initiative to support business goals. Uphold integrity and honesty in all professional interactions. Qualifications/Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Field of Study: Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline. Experience: Minimum of 9+ years of related experience in underwriting or a similar field. At least 4 years of management experience. Progression toward certifications in relevant areas is preferred. Certifications may include: Associate in Surety and Fidelity Bonding (AFSB) Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
