CMM Programmer

Formel D is seeking an experienced CMM Programmer with strong ZEISS programming and troubleshooting experience to support dimensional inspection and quality activities in a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ZEISS Calypso software, advanced metrology equipment, blueprint interpretation, and root cause analysis.

This role will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CMM programs while ensuring product compliance to customer specifications and quality standards.

Basic Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or metrology certification preferred.
• 3–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
• 3+ years of hands-on CMM programming experience using ZEISS Calypso software.
• Strong troubleshooting experience with ZEISS CMM equipment and inspection systems.
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T, blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, and hand gages.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, validate, optimize, and maintain CMM programs using ZEISS Calypso software.
• Perform dimensional inspections using ZEISS CMM equipment.
• Troubleshoot CMM programs, probes, fixtures, and measurement issues.
• Interpret GD&T requirements and customer specifications.
• Generate detailed inspection reports and quality documentation.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
• Verify calibration status and maintain inspection equipment.
• Support launch activities, containment actions, and customer audits.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in automotive or battery manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of SPC, MSA, PPAP, and quality core tools.
• Experience with PC-DMIS or additional metrology software is a plus.
