The Construction General Laborer supports daily construction operations by safely transporting people, parts, and tools across active job sites. This role helps keep projects running smoothly by performing general labor tasks, assisting with equipment and materials, and serving as a spotter in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Responsibilities

• Transport parts, tools, and materials to designated areas on the job site in a safe and timely manner.
• Support construction teams with general labor tasks such as site cleanup, material handling, and basic setup or breakdown of work areas.
• Act as a spotter for equipment, including assisting with safe loading and unloading of tractor trailers and other machinery.
• Assist with moving, staging, and organizing tools and equipment so crews have the resources they need to work efficiently.
• Locate and retrieve parts and tools as needed to support ongoing construction activities.
• Use hand tools and common construction equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures and safety guidelines.
• Follow all site safety rules, procedures, and regulations while maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members to understand daily priorities and respond to changing needs on the job site.
• Report any safety concerns, equipment issues, or hazards promptly to the appropriate personnel.
• Work at heights when using a scissor lift and follow all required safety practices for elevated work.
• Adapt to different tasks and duties as project needs evolve throughout the day and across various job sites.

Essential Skills

• Previous construction experience with a solid understanding of basic construction practices.
• Familiarity with common construction tools, hand tools, and equipment used on job sites.
• Ability to work safely in both indoor and outdoor construction environments, including around active equipment and machinery.
• Capability to perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Reliable communication skills to coordinate tasks, relay information, and respond to changing site needs.
• Strong awareness of safety practices and a consistent willingness to follow all safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to serve as a spotter for equipment, ensuring safe movement and operation during loading and unloading activities.

Work Environment
This position operates in both indoor and outdoor construction environments on active job sites. You will work around heavy equipment, tractor trailers, and scissor lifts, with regular exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and moving machinery. Safety procedures, protective equipment, and adherence to site rules are an essential part of daily activities. The role involves frequent walking and movement around the site, working at heights when using a scissor lift, and performing physically demanding tasks throughout the shift. Current hours follow an extended schedule: Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., reflecting the pace and demands of active construction projects.

This is a Contract position based out of Southaven, MS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
