Job Opportunity: Physician Advisor

Our organization is in search of a motivated, board-certified physician with inpatient experience to fill the newly established position of Physician Advisor . The ideal candidate will have experience serving on hospital committees or possess a solid understanding of CMS and commercial insurance regulations. A collaborative mindset and a focus on team-building are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a physician-driven clinical resource utilization program and collaborate with the leadership team to implement necessary interventions.
• Evaluate cases to ascertain the appropriate level of care based on medical necessity, applying relevant regulatory, health plan, and clinical guidelines during denial reviews.
• Act as a resource for physicians regarding medical necessity, levels of care, and clinical documentation.
• Encourage effective communication among care team members.
• Establish and uphold peer-to-peer protocols.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Board certification in a relevant medical specialty.
• Inpatient experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of CMS and commercial insurance regulations.
• Experience in hospital committees is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively and build effective teams.
