Occupational Therapist Inpatient Rehab

As an Occupational Therapist Inpatient Rehab at UCHealth, you will provide patient-centered occupational therapy services to adult and geriatric patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery in an acute inpatient rehabilitation setting. Working within UCHealth’s innovative, diverse, and inclusive culture, you will complete comprehensive evaluations, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to help patients restore function, increase independence, and safely transition to home or the next level of care. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and social workers to coordinate care, set realistic functional goals, and track patient progress. Daily responsibilities include performing functional assessments of activities of daily living, cognition, and mobility; providing therapeutic activities, neuromuscular re-education, and adaptive equipment training; and educating patients and families on home programs, safety strategies, and discharge planning. You will document all care accurately and timely in the electronic health record, adhere to regulatory and professional standards, and contribute to quality and process-improvement initiatives that support UCHealth’s commitment to continuous improvement. The role involves mentoring students when assigned, participating in staff education and competency training, and staying current with best practices in inpatient rehabilitation.
