Responsibilities Greet all customers when entering and exiting the store Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and clearly explain all benefits Accurately balance cash drawer at the end of the day Maintain a clean working environment and personal workspace Engage in conversation with the customer to add a personal touch to each transaction End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer Maintain a professional appearance on the sales floor Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth Perform basic math; compute rate, ratio and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos Write simple correspondence Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers and other employees Demonstrate strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills Show initiative and a drive for continuous improvement while contributing to a positive team atmosphere Exercise judgment and tact when working with customers or coworkers Communicate clearly with all levels of the organization Work assigned schedules, including varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays Assist in all other duties as assigned Schedule Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be available a minimum of two weekends a month. Average hours per week are 15–25 hours. Requirements Customer Service: Genuine and consistent treatment of coworkers, customers and business partners with eye contact, a smile and a genuine thank you. Adapt to a changing work environment. Math, Grammar and Communication: Apply concepts of basic math, grammar, punctuation and spelling. Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Dress Code: Meet Scheels dress and grooming expectations to support a professional, clean, and welcoming environment. Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred and/or 1–3 months of cashiering experience. Physical Requirements Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation. Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
