Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Job Description

Inova Alexandria Hospital has an opportunity available for a Registered Nurse to work in our Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program. This is a Full time position (40hr/week, hours vary) . Ideal candidates will have Cardiovascular nursing experience with a passion for patient education regarding behavior change and familiarity with ECG rhythm identification. We will consider telemetry nurses from other areas.


This unit is open Monday-Friday 7A-7P (schedule will vary), closing earlier on Tuesday/Friday depending on patient volume. No weekend or holiday requirements. Cardiac Rehab is an outpatient lifestyle management program for individuals recovering from a recent cardiac event. All Inova Cardiac Rehab programs are certified and align with AACVPR guidelines and practice initiatives.


Candidates should be comfortable working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of nurses, exercise physiologists, registered dietitians and behavioral health providers. Our cardiac rehab programs are active environments and require standing/movement and some lifting throughout the day.

Cardiac Rehab RN Qualifications:

• Experience - 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse,
• Certification - Basic Life Support through AHA
• Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
• Education:BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

Preferred Qualifications: Cardiac telemetry monitoring experience strongly preferred.
