Systems Analyst

Job Summary
We are looking for a Systems Analyst to join a Digital Platforms Technology team focused on designing, developing, implementing, and supporting digital products and services. The role will focus on delivering innovative solutions using Java-based technologies and will work closely with business partners, product owners, developers, quality assurance teams, architects, and other stakeholders. The Senior Systems Analyst will play a key role on a Scrum team, supporting analysis, design, testing, delivery, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement while providing guidance and mentoring to other Systems Analysts.

Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, deploy, and support key applications and features.
• Interview business partners to understand project objectives, use cases, and requirements.
• Research, document, and review existing systems and recommend designs to achieve requirements for self-contained projects within larger programs.
• Assist in writing user requirements and supporting documentation.
• Diagram business processes and system workflows.
• Convey technical concepts effectively to internal customers, technical team members, and other technical contributors.
• Participate in defining project scope and backlog while recommending solutions to project issues.
• Work closely with Squad Leads, Scrum Masters, Developers, Quality Assurance teams, and Architects to craft, build, test, and deliver digital platform features.
• Provide guidance on standard methodologies and mentoring support to other Systems Analysts.
• Support Quality Assurance and business partners throughout testing phases, including triaging system defects in production and non-production environments.
• Apply formal software development methodologies, including traditional structured and Agile/iterative approaches, to deliver new or improved applications.
• Identify and communicate systems development processes and generate requirements documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution, and planning activities.
• Perform technical analysis of web application development concepts.
• Support troubleshooting and problem-solving activities across applications and systems.
• Work on multiple efforts simultaneously while maintaining organization, responsiveness, and quality.
• Navigate organizational processes and collaborate effectively with individuals and groups in both in-person and virtual environments.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience, with a focus on financial services applications.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience communicating technical needs and capabilities to non-technical team members, product owners, and business partners.
• Experience collaborating within a team environment to develop, deploy, and support applications and features.
• Proven understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience gathering, documenting, and analyzing business requirements.
• Experience researching and reviewing existing systems and recommending solutions.
• Experience diagramming business processes and system workflows.
• Strong understanding of internet, mobile, and application architecture, as well as current and emerging technologies.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, problem resolution, and planning.
• Ability to work through ambiguous situations and make timely decisions based on facts, knowledge, experience, and judgment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with peers, technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior management.
• Ability to influence team members and external groups to support project objectives.
• Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with sophisticated web application development concepts including Spring MVC, Spring Core, XML, and CSS.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with database query tools.
• Experience with Java and Confluence.
• Working knowledge of QA automation.
