Job Details Specialty: NICU / Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse Location: Charlotte, NC 28204 Start Date: September 8, 2026 Contract Length: Approximately 20 weeks Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week Shift: 12-hour nights Schedule: 3 x 12-hour night shifts Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,710 - $1,800 Orientation: 24 hours Scheduling: Self-scheduling based on unit needs Patient Ratios: 1:2-4 Floating: May float within pediatric, PICU, or nursery areas caring for infants up to 12 months NICU RN Job Requirements Minimum 3 years of NICU nursing experience in a Level III or Level IV setting Experience caring for critically ill neonates and surgical infants Current BLS and NRP certifications Ventilator experience required Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and maintain 36 hours per week Open to floating as needed within related pediatric care areas Epic charting experience preferred NC RN license or Compact RN license acceptable; pending license may be considered for submission Ability to meet compliance and pre-start onboarding requirements in a timely manner Responsibilities Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates Monitor and manage infants requiring advanced respiratory support and ventilator care Assist with specialized neonatal procedures such as UAC/UVC management, therapeutic hypothermia, and nitric oxide therapy Care for infants with complex diagnoses, including surgical needs and hypoxic injury Support feeding, thermoregulation, and developmental care for newborns in the NICU Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe, effective patient outcomes Accurately document care and treatment using the assigned charting system Adapt to changing patient needs while maintaining a calm, professional approach in a high-acuity environment Apply now to take the next step in your NICU travel nurse career in Charlotte, NC.
