Infusion Nurse

Part Time - 2 days per week (could possibly make it 1 day 8 hours) Rheumatology Infusion RN. MUST have experience!

• Patient assessments – lab work, PPD, chest X-ray, new starts
• Preparing, administering IV infusions approved for use in Rheumatology
• Scheduling infusion appointments to maximize use of Infusion facilities
• IV, blood drawing/phlebotomy
• New approvals, calling patient to review medications or mail out information – verifying interest in starting new treatment
• Retrieving all necessary test results, including those from outside sources in order to begin infusions
• Filling out paperwork for specialty pharmacy for those patients that require it, and faxing signed forms to get delivery of med to office for scheduled infusion appointments.
• Getting signed orders one week ahead of time for each infusion
• Maintaining sterile conditions in infusion area, wiping down chairs with disinfectant at least twice weekly and prn making sure blankets get dry cleaned as needed
• Computer entry of appointments
• Managing Research infusions and their scheduling with the Research department
• Vital signs, maintaining CPR certification and ACLS
• Filling in paperwork as it relates to research infusions/preparing Research infusions as directed by Clinical Study Coordinator
• Ordering supplies and maintaining appropriate stock of drug for upcoming infusions
• Maintaining up to date emergency medications
• Monitor refrigerator temps and notifying appropriate person(s) when there are deviations
