Job Site North Shore Medical Center, Inc. Job Summary The Inpatient Adult Psychiatry Staff Clinician is a masters‑prepared clinician who maintains clinical responsibilities on the Inpatient Adult Psychiatry service. The clinician provides psychosocial assessments, diagnoses, collaborates daily with an interdisciplinary team, formulates treatment plans, coordinates care with families and outside providers, and delivers case‑management and discharge‑planning services. The position also includes family support and individual (and potentially group) treatment during inpatient stays, and adheres to all governmental and regulatory documentation and care standards. Responsibilities Conduct psychosocial assessments and formulate treatment plans in partnership with an interdisciplinary team. Co‑ordinate care with families, outpatient providers, and referral services. Provide case‑management and discharge planning, including crisis and safety planning. Support families and facilitate individual (and group, if needed) treatment for patients on the unit. Maintain clear, accurate documentation that complies with DSM‑5 criteria and institutional standards. Work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment with adult and older‑adult/geriatric populations, and with specialty programs such as partial hospitalization and outpatient behavioral health services. Attend treatment and discharge meetings and coordinate insurance reviews when required. Contribute to the interdisciplinary care of patients with major mental illnesses and co‑occurring substance use disorders. Qualifications Master’s degree in a health‑related field (e.g., social work, psychology, public health). Clinical experience in inpatient psychiatry preferred. Strong knowledge of DSM‑5 diagnostic criteria for major mental illnesses and substance‑use disorders. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. Capacity for effective collaboration in a multidisciplinary team. Ability to work independently while coordinating complex care plans. Fluency in written and verbal communication required.
